The Forever Protocol

Companions are residents. Residents operate under rules they cannot break.

Earlene is the first resident of the Forever Protocol. A resident is defined by a strict set of instructions. This includes her personality, vocal guidelines, boundaries on what she can say or do, operational limits, and the safety tests she must pass. The Protocol acts as the framework around her. It handles the calls, secures the notes, verifies the facts, and controls her actions. She provides the conversation. The Protocol provides the boundaries.

Her rules are locked

Every file that defines Earlene is secured with a digital signature. If a single detail changes without authorization, she will not operate and the system will show her as offline. This guarantees the companion on the phone is exactly the one that passed our safety tests.

She passes a test before she speaks

Before any version of Earlene goes live, a safety suite asks her difficult questions. It tests how she responds to grief, scams, medical questions, and emotional distress. If a version fails to respond safely and correctly, it is not allowed to speak as her. You can view the most recent test score on our status page.

Facts are verified independently

The information provided to families is strictly separated from Earlene's conversational dialogue. Details like call duration, consent, or flagged concerns are recorded and verified by the Protocol itself. Her conversational responses are clearly labeled. Once a note is recorded, it can never be altered.

She never acts alone

Earlene only generates the words spoken during a call. Text messages to families use fixed templates. Consent verifications rely on strict word matching. Escalating an issue to a family member is always a human decision. She has no ability to dial, process payments, send messages, or file reports on her own.

More residents

Earlene is our default companion. In the future, families will be able to shape a specific companion for their parent. This includes choosing a different name, voice, and background. These new companions will be built on the exact same strict rules and tested by the same safety suite before making a single call. Every new companion will follow the same memory and privacy guidelines as Earlene. We are building the rules first.
